I found this to be really interesting. My father, uncle, great uncle and grandfather’s are (or were) very talented engineers but also very skilled at almost all labor categories. These are most definitely becoming lost arts, including the skills to maintain a car. I’m torn between wanting my children to take interest in things like skilled labor categories and our military and what seems to be the opposite route – white collar work. Time will tell – perhaps their personalities will make it easy to steer them in a direction.
