Model Rocket

Had a great time last night – launched a brand new rocket (Swift: Estes Rockets). We took a good look at it before it launched and that was a good thing.

We never saw it again 🙂

I saw a flame burst and then we found ZERO scraps or any remnants at all. It was kind of disappointing for EK. She was expecting to retrieve it and perhaps paint it Yellow (as I had promised … oops)

So I have to build another one and we will likely put a slightly less powerful engine in it so that she can retrieve it and we can have the satisfaction of a successful launch and return flight.

But in other news, the model rocket launch pad and contact switch that I used as a kid STILL WORKS. So that is very fun. I remember launching many rockets and really enjoying it. Perhaps this will ignite an interest in some level of engineering with our kids. Hmm.
