Yup – just when we were sure it was a girl, HA! Its a boy. I think EK will be a great big sister. What a lucky little fella – I just know that mom and sister will dote on him. Everything looks good – healthy, and we’re excited for a mid June delivery

Someone asked me lately, “So are you as excited about the second one, as you were the first?”.

The answer: Just as much.

It is hard to explain – and I guess I was skeptical that it could be true – but there is nothing redundant about having another child. Jess’s pregnancy is different, the feelings and fears that go with it are different (not less, just different) but the anticipation, excitement and wonderment are all just as high. This is a brand new life. And we have a whole lifetime to spend affected by this new person. What could be dull about that?

I don’t want to end up cynical but its difficult not to. I’m trying in earnestness to give and share our blessings through our businesses and I’m hitting brick walls. Mean emails with lots of condescension.

Now that I think about it, its probably only something like 15% of the people I am getting in touch with – but that is enough to bring me down, for sure. But you know what, you catch more bees with honey than gall, so I am just going to keep trying to do what I am trying to do because it is the right thing to do. But it sure would be easier if the people who offer these dynamite services were dynamite people.

I’ll try to stay optimistic, trusting and genuine. And hopefully it overcomes all the negativity.

I guess everyone has something in their life that vexes them. Mine is brakes. Yeah, like on your car. Although its not that they just annoy me. They are the bane of my existence. In fact, the lack of brakes has almost led to my demise. But that is another story (one that I had posted on the original version of this blog).

Anyway, my point is – right now, my brakes are broke. They are leaking fluid onto the pavement. Amy I worried? No, because this has happened before. Am I frustrated – you bet. I can’t keep up with the problems of the vehicles in our house. Its getting old. I keep thinking that I will eventually catch up. I will … right?

I can’t get enough of cool pics of my daughter. Probably not something new – but she is doing so many interesting things. For those that don’t have kids,

The day your daughter says her first unprompted sentence, its amazing. When the words include your name – breathtaking
The first time the kiddo breaks out into her “A-B-C’s” when you say, “Can you sing your ‘A-B-C’s?” – it blows your mind.
WHY?

Because you have spent more than a year talking to this thing that does little more than eat, sleep and poop. To finally get this level of interaction – its like the family dog suddenly looking at you and saying, “That shirt makes you look fat.” It catches you off guard, and it is something that you didn’t think would ever happen.

I mean, come on, you’ve had that shirt forever.
