I got a haircut today. Pretty nice, I mean, its cool.

Wore my “Speed Racer” shirt because it makes me feel young and its cool because there is that movie coming out.

I show up at Winn Dixie, picking up some beer. I say to the checkout lady, “Its cool that I don’t get I.D’ed anymore”. She says, “Well, you’re what, 40?”

I about lost it. On the inside I was crushed. I played it cool, but DANG, I am still in denial about 30 and here I am being pegged as 40.

Crap.

for the past few months i have been religious about using a coffee cup that is oversized. my claim was that it allowed me less time traveling to and from the coffee maker because it was a larger portion and that larger portion kept me working. FALSE. I have realized that i never get to the bottom of it because it always gets cold before I finish. So I get up to refill it with steaming hot Joe and therefore actually, I probably fill it up MORE frequently.

and after realizing this, i have to ask myself …

WHO CARES!

Just Saved Money

Quick story – Jess and I had some discussions today about the next few weeks. I let her know that I was sort of convinced that I was going to need to buy a new floor jack. Not every one needs a floor jack, but since we do alot of the maintenance on our cars, and considering we have 5 vehicles and a trailer, a jack is nice. Anyway, the old one (26 years old with all original seals) was not working anymore and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Well, I decided to give it one last shot because if I could fix it in less than 4-6 hours, then it would be worth my time. But if not, then at least I tried. Short story boring, I FIXED IT! So I saved money!! Woohoo!

The big risk is that having a floor jack that acts up is a risky thing because more often than not, jacking a car up means you want to get underneath it. The good news is that I have lots of jack stands, so I will definitely be making sure the car is secure before I climb under it.

A few years back, I accidentally washed my dishes with dish soap. By itself, that doesn’t sound too bad. When you consider that I used the dish soap in the dish washer, yeah, it made a huge soapy-sudsy mess. The floor was literally covered in soap suds. Today I made an equally stupid blunder.

I tried frying shrimp with the shells on. Yeah, terrible plan. It basically made the shells stick to the shrimp AND I actually battered them before I realized they were shelled so I had oil dripping out from inside the fried part and that too was sticking to the stupid shrimp. What a mess?!?! I ate them, but it wasn’t fun. Tasty, but not fun.
