first time

for the first time ever (i think) – the prize in a box of cereal actually surprised me. what i mean is, when i was growing up, i always wanted to get to the toy quickly, even to the point of reaching in the box and feeling around for it when the box is first opened. but this morning, i was pouring my cheerios and the toy just fell out into my bowl. it was fun. its a richard petty matchbox size car.

Yeah, growing up in my house, the boxes of cereal with prizes were usually all mangled and deformed and de-prized pretty quickly. Most of the time, my brother would dig through them in the car ride home to my sister’s protests about fair play and how a sixteen year old had no use for a secret decoder ring or whatnot. Good times.
