The better of Dan Brown's books is Angels and Demons. I also think it would have been a better choice for a movie adaptation. I am not, however, the biggest fan of Dan Brown. I just thought A&D was good because it takes place almost entirely in Rome, and I have had the privilege of seeing many of the places discussed in the book. I think his plots are pretty thin, and he doesn't write in many plot threads, so it gets obvious about 2/3 of the way through and then I just want the dern books to end. A&D is another religion-based story. His other two books try to be technological thrillers, (Deception Point and Digital Fortress) but are kinda campy.

I started reading the book and got bored. I'd like to finish the book before watching the movie.

I was so tired of people asking me about the theology behind the book that I avoided the movie. It's interesting when you are studying theology because people will ask you the STRANGEST things as if I'm a expert in everything God.

They are good actors for the role - Jess and I agreed that Matthew Mcconaughey (sp?) would NOT be suitable - but we couldn't figure out who would after that - and I think we got side-tracked talking about the new James Bond guy.

Well, getting onboard "The DaVinci Code" Express late is much better than getting on it early. I've heard waaaay too many discussions about it (in the context of being fact and/or conspiracy).

At any rate, I haven't seen the movie, but reading the book I always pictured someone other than Hanks playing Langdon, such as Cary Elwes or Liam Neeson.
