We scheduled our first weekend getaway as a married couple today! We are going to Gatlinburg, TN next month! Here’s the link to the cottage we are renting:

This is our reward for being debt free, finally! It will surely keep me going through my grueling last semester of classes! Driving 1hr and 45 minutes to school every day is getting old really fast. I’m so close to graduating I can taste it, but I have a wicked case of senioritis. Gatlinburg sure is beautiful this time of year, too. It’s still hot where we live and it will be nice to get a tast of the cool weather and changing trees. Yay for vacations!

Lately I have been wanting to get back into my hobbies. Cars, guitars, beer brewing. Its funny how these hobbies get pushed back on the priority list when you work two jobs and only get limited time with your wife, so you happily invest any “free” time with her.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to getting one of these: Cast Iron Double Burner Propane Stove.

Jess’s dad uses one of these for blackening shrimp, chicken, prime rib and more. And it is fabulous. You use a ton of butter which means it can’t be healthy, but it is SO tasty. And the cool thing is it will double as a good way to regulate heat when I steep the grains for brewing the beer. Yay! Hobbies – here I come!
